Call of belonging (wood pigeons)
Nestled together in tenderness, these woodpigeons symbolise quiet togetherness, peaceful communication, and the importance of home.
Symbolism: Peace, family & home.
Woodpigeons embody calmness, with their gentle tenderness and soft, rhythmic cooing. They mate for life, and often return to the same nesting spot year after year, symbolising the importance of home. Both parents play active roles in caring for their offspring. They work together to build their nest, taking turns to gather materials and create a safe space.
They also share egg guarding duties. Once the chicks, known as squabs, have hatched, both parents feed their young a special crop milk (a nutrient-rich secretion from their crop). Both parents guard against threats, symbolising a cooperative family life, with a focus on nurturing and protecting the home.
This 30cm x 30cm off-white mounted print is ready to be placed in a frame of your choice.
This original lino print was carved by hand in the North York Moors and printed with non-toxic ink on beautiful Ho-sho paper, which has some natural flecks.
There are also slight variations in the finished print. This is part of the charm of an original print.
All packaging is 100% recycled, recyclable and compostable.
